Ace an executive assistant interview
An executive assistant is a leader's right hand: the recruiter wants someone ultra-organised, reliable and discreet, who anticipates. Here's how to prove it.
The questions you'll almost certainly get
- "How do you manage an overloaded calendar with conflicting priorities?"
- "Describe a time you anticipated your executive's needs."
- "How do you handle confidential information?"
- "How do you deal with last-minute surprises?"
The golden rule: show anticipation
A great assistant doesn't react, they anticipate. Give a concrete example: a trip rebuilt under pressure, a file ready before it was asked for. That's what separates a doer from a true right hand.
Reassure on confidentiality
You'll have access to sensitive information. A crisp answer on your discretion and loyalty is non-negotiable for this role.
Be specific on tools and versatility
Calendars, travel, expenses, meeting logistics, office software: name your real scope and the tools you've mastered.
Practise on the exact job offer
Every leader has their own rhythm and expectations. Take a mock interview for the role you're targeting: the AI recruiter will put you in real scenarios and you'll get a detailed coaching report.
