Ace a field sales interview
A field sales rep sells face to face, often alone on their patch. The recruiter wants autonomy, energy and results. Here's how to prepare.
The questions you'll almost certainly get
- "How do you organise your routes and territory?"
- "How do you land a new client in person?"
- "Tell me about a tough field sale."
- "What are your numbers?" (revenue, new clients, visit-to-sale rate)
The golden rule: numbers + autonomy
In the field, no one holds your hand. Show your organisation method (territory planning, schedule, mobile CRM) AND your quantified results. Organised autonomy is criterion number one.
Prove your resilience
In-person prospecting means doors closing. Show how you keep your energy day after day: that's what separates those who last from those who quit.
Mind the human contact
The field is about relationships. Give an example of a client retained through quality follow-up: field sales is won over time.
Practise on the exact job offer
Every sector has its codes (B2B, B2C, retail chains, technical…). Take a mock interview for the role you're targeting: the AI recruiter will put you in real scenarios and you'll get a detailed coaching report.
